The post:
SilverCloud has an extensive programme of international research trials. The Clinical Research Manager will adopt the entire management of this portfolio of research. The individual will have experience in designing, developing, implementing and managing the full lifecycle of a research trial. The person will have experience in academic and clinical research. The person will have an established and track record of publications and management of research experience. The individual will have experience of managing a team of researches, doctoral and post-doctoral levels.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

1. Psychologist –Clinical, Counselling, or Health – graduate and postgraduate doctorate qualifications
2. Experience with designing clinical research trials in psychology – quantitative and qualitative
3. Clinical experience and knowledge of the clinical use of CBT resources
4. Knowledge and experience with various theoretical and clinical approaches, including for the treatment of psychological disorders and behavioural health
5. An interest and knowledge of mental health disorders and also an interest in the behavioural aspects of long-term conditions such as diabetes, CVD, Pain, etc.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

The Clinical Research Manager will work with the Director to design, implement, and execute research projects. The Clinical Research Manager will be responsible for the overall day-to day supervision and management of research projects assigned by the Director. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

1. Managing and providing oversight of the clinical research portfolio and clinical research staff

2. Working closely with staff and partners that are critical to the success of the research projects

3. Develop and supervise development of research protocols. Including study design, development of research questions, regulatory and institutional review board (IRB) requirements, evaluation of resource requirements and budgeting

4. Complete high-level projects including Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, creating databases, validating research documents and research processes/methods, and maintaining quality history files for research processes 

5. Manage research protocols. Includes direction and supervision of research staff on protocol related activities, conducting and/or supervising training related to research for internal and external groups, and coordinating the schedules of research staff to ensure adequate coverage of protocols

6. This includes hiring and training research personnel on their assigned projects, managing schedules and timecards, addressing their questions and/or concerns, ensuring they have the resources and tools they need to conduct the research activities on a daily basis, and assigning low-level projects

7. Manages on-going strategic plans for clinical research at SilverCloud

8. Evaluate and support development of grant opportunities

9. Manages human resources activities or gives direct input for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning

10. Liaising and working with the Clinical Programmes manager and Product Managers at SilverCloud. Liaising with the external publishers, other agencies, organisations, clinical and academic centres and others departments within the SilverCloud organization.

• Competent in data management and analysis using a range of software to support outputs
• Preparation and completion on peer review publications from the research projects
• Good analytical and problem solving skills – ability to identify a problem and propose a solution
• Ability to work as part of a team and also independently – a flexible approach and ability to shift focus when required
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Enthusiasm for helping people
