ISRII 2025 Award Nominations Are Open!

The International Society for Research on Internet Interventions (ISRII) is pleased to announce the 2025 ISRII Award nominations are open.

These awards recognize outstanding contributions to the field of digital health and Internet Interventions across various career stages and areas of impact.

The application deadline for all awards is April 1, 2025. Please submit award applications by clicking the award application form under each description below.

Rising Star Award

Recognizing an outstanding investigator who has made significant contributions to digital health, this award honors a researcher whose body of work has had a measurable impact in the field.

The awardee will be invited to present their research as part of an award symposium at the ISRII 13th Scientific Meeting.

Criteria:

  • Must be within 8 years of completing their PhD or equivalent degree.
  • Demonstrated contribution to digital health through a body of scholarly activity.
  • Nominee must be a current ISRII member and/or be attending the ISRII 13th Scientific Meeting.
  • Application can be submitted on behalf of oneself or someone else.

Application Requirements:

  • Brief statement (~250 words) summarizing nominee's contributions to the field of digital health.
  • One representative publication.
  • (Preferred) CV or biosketch.

Leadership Award

ISRII’s highest accolade, this award recognizes exceptional leadership and contributions to Internet Interventions through research, innovation, and advocacy.

This prestigious honor celebrates the award recipient's profound impact on the scientific community through visionary stewardship, groundbreaking research, and innovative initiatives. Recipients of this award are esteemed for their unwavering dedication to advancing the frontiers of knowledge and inspiring future generations of digital health scientists.

Criteria:

  • Outstanding Contributions: Demonstrated significant and lasting contributions to the field of Internet Interventions, which could encompass research, technology development, policy advocacy, or other relevant areas.
  • Leadership: Exhibited exceptional leadership qualities, which may include guiding research teams, leading collaborative efforts, or playing a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the field.
  • Innovation: Pioneered innovative approaches, technologies, or methodologies that have advanced the understanding or application of Internet Interventions.
  • Impact: Made a profound and positive impact on the scientific community or society at large through their work in Internet Interventions.
  • Sustained Excellence: Demonstrated consistent excellence in their contributions over a significant portion of their career, potentially including a long-term commitment to the advancement of the field.
  • Mentorship and Education: Contributed to the development of future leaders in the field by mentoring students, researchers, or others and promoting education and training initiatives.
  • Advocacy: Actively advocated for the field of Internet Interventions, promoting its importance and relevance within the broader scientific and healthcare communities.
  • Ethical and Professional Conduct: Maintained high standards of ethical and professional conduct in their work, upholding the values of integrity, transparency, and collaboration.
  • Impact on Digital Health: Demonstrated how their work has positively influenced the field of digital health and its potential to improve healthcare outcomes.
  • Nominee must be a current ISRII member and/or be attending the ISRII 13th Scientific Meeting.

Application Requirements:

  • To nominate an individual for this award, please ensure that the submission comprises at least two endorsement letters from active ISRII members.
  • Must include a description of the nominee's qualifications and how they align with or surpass the designated criteria. *Note: The award criteria encompass multiple aspects, and candidates need not fulfill all of them. Instead, emphasize the nominee's noteworthy achievements in one or more of the specified areas. Please keep each nomination letter to 2 pages or less.

Translational Impact Award

The Translational Impact Award recognizes the translational and non-academic outputs of its members that advance the field of digital health by ensuring that research is translated into practice.

Criteria:

  • Demonstrated exceptional impact in the field of digital health through translational research. Example: Community or industry engagement, large-scale implementation, work that moves from the research setting to practice, commercialization, working closely with community partners, and real-world impact.
  • Must be a current ISRII member and/or be attending the ISRII 13th Scientific Meeting.
  • Application can be submitted on behalf of oneself or someone else.

Application Requirements:

  • Brief statement (~250 words) summarizing nominee's research and translational impact
  • (Preferred) CV or biosketch (include at least one reference)

Early Career Researcher Award

This award honors an exceptional early-career investigator who shows promise for contributing to the field of digital health. The awardee will be invited to present their research at the ISRII 13th Scientific Meeting awards symposium.

Criteria:

  • Must be within 2 years of completing their PhD or equivalent degree.
  • Demonstrated contribution to digital health through research scholarship or an innovative product.
  • Nominee must be a current ISRII member and/or be attending the ISRII 13th Scientific Meeting.
  • Application can be submitted on behalf of oneself or someone else.

Application Requirements:

  • Brief statement (~250 words) summarizing research and its implications.
  • One representative publication.
  • (Preferred) CV or biosketch.

Extraordinary Dedication Award

This award recognizes an ISRII member who has demonstrated extraordinary contributions to ISRII’s activities and the advancement of Internet Interventions.

Criteria:

  • Must have demonstrated exceptional contributions to the vision of ISRII or the development and delivery of ISRII activities and events.
  • Nominee must be a current ISRII member and/or be attending the ISRII 13th Scientific Meeting.

Application Requirements:

  • The awardee should be nominated by an ISRII member.
  • Brief statement (~250 words) summarizing nominee's contributions and dedications to ISRII.

Extraordinary Contributions to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Award

The Extraordinary Contributions to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award is presented to an early- to mid-career stage ISRII member whose research and activities have made exceptional contributions to overcoming health disparities, advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and making internet interventions more accessible to a broad and diverse population.

Criteria:

  • Must be within 12 years of completing their PhD, MHD, or equivalent terminal degree. ISRII activities and events.
  • Demonstrated their contribution to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion through a body of scholarly activity.
  • Must be a current ISRII member and/or be attending the ISRII 13th Scientific Meeting.

Application Requirements:

  • Brief statement (~250 words) summarizing nominee's research and contributions to DEI.
  • One publication demonstrating contributions to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • (Preferred) CV or biosketch

Travel Award

Travel Awards will be available to those seeking support to attend the ISRII conference. Included in the travel award is ISRII membership, conference fees, a gala ticket, and 1 workshop.

Criteria:

  • Priority will be given to students and trainee attendees who (1) do not have other sources of funding to attend the ISRII conference, and (2) come from low-to-middle income countries.
  • Must be a current ISRII member and/or be attending the ISRII 13th Scientific Meeting.

Application Requirements:

  • Brief statement (~250 words) summarizing how attending the ISRII conference will benefit the applicant's research and career
