Obviously, there are many kinds of Berliners (one of the greatest things about this city). But here are some things I would suggest to friends in order to enjoy this wonderful city to its fullest (excluding all the other topics I already wrote about).

    – Have a sundowner at Tempelhof Airfield. It is a decommissioned airfield between Kreuzberg, Neukölln and Tempelhof and offers a unique area of free space in the middle of the city, beautiful sunsets with all the diverse, fantastic Berlin life going on around you.
    – Sitting at the Kanal in the late afternoon, drinking Beer (preferably in Kreuzberg or Neukölln, e.g. Paul-Linke Ufer, Admiralsbrücke, Planufer/Landwehrkanalufer)
    – Sitting at the “Späti” (a very common night shop concept in Berlin) drinking beer at the early night and watching Berlin life floating around you (i.e. try Weserstraße in Neukölln, Spätkauf 178 at Herrmannstr. (“the techno späti”) or any other Späti in any other Kiez (=neighborhood) that seems appealing to you.
    – Rent a bike and roam through the city
    – Go to a flea market hunting down vintage stuff (e.g. Mauerpark on Sundays, or Nowkölln Flow Markt: http://www.nowkoelln.de )
    – Roam around the city with a beer in your hand (we call it “Wegbier”)
    – Relax and hang out in one of the fantastic parks (Hasenheide, Tiergarten, Mauerpark, Treptower Park, Volkspark Friedrichshain, Gleisdreieckpark and many more)
    – Sitting on bridges watching the sunset. And of course don`t forget to stock up on a beverage of your choice at the Späti. Some suggestions, see here: http://www.findingberlin.com/sundowners-berlin/
    – Take amazing pictures at one of the many abandoned places in Berlin. Beware, for most places it is not entirely legal to enter. Also, enter at your own risk. For others however, there are guided tours. Get some ideas here: http://www.abandonedberlin.com or here https://mitvergnuegen.com/2016/11-beautiful-abandonded-places-in-berlin
